Male Patient, 2000 grafts, FUT procedure
Something that gives me a lot of pleasure is to see how even transplants with a small number of grafts are capable of producing an impressive result. In this case, I would like to tell you about a 1500 graft FUE hair transplant, which took place in 2015. The patient was a 27-year-old young man who had a receding hairline. Such a receding hairline is one of the most common cases of male pattern baldness and is easily solvable with a transplant.

The consultation for this case was relatively simple. Designing the hairline only took a few minutes – we went by old photos that the patient had brought with him. After the hairline was designed, we set about deciding what the best option would be. In this case we decided to go with an FUE procedure, instead of an FUT procedure. This was reasoned by the patient to be best for him. I agreed because this would also allow for graft harvesting from the body, rather than just from his head. BHT is a frequent practice in hair transplants, and enables recovery even in cases when there is little hair in the donor area on the scalp.
Either way, the majority of the donor grafts was taken from the back fo the head. We scheduled the procedure to be several weeks after the consultation – we couldn’t do it sooner, due to there being a lot of operations scheduled in between.

The procedure in this case took only 4 hours. This is relatively fast for an FUE hair transplant. The small number of grafts, as well as my exceptional team, made the procedure easier than ever. We harvested the grafts and started implanting them. The final area that the hair was implanted turned out to be around 150 square centimeters. This allowed for about 20 grafts per square centimeter. The grafts were extremely healthy, with 2.3 hairs per grafts.

The final results of the procedure ended up being outstanding! The patient would, of course, not see the results for a few months after the procedure. But, once the results were visible, the patient was very happy. Rehabilitating a hairline like this is impossible with creams, hair rejuvenation shampoos and so on. The best way to go about it is to get a transplant. Judge the results yourself!
